This month we are setting our crosshairs on the AGT Vixen. Unique, compact, and balanced the Vixen is produced by Czech Manufacturers, AGT, and are imported into the UK by Regael. Released in early 2021 the Vixen soon became one of AGT’s best-selling rifles overtaking the Vulcan & Uragan.

The AGT Vixen comes from a prestigious line of airguns from Air Gun Technology. Not only is this rifle both accurate and precise it also is lightweight and compact. The Vixen has been manufactured to best suit all shooters by taking the feedback from other AGT models and creating this airgun. The design of the rifle is very tactical with its compact size and manoeuvrability. The PCP power system provides shot after shot consistency due to its brilliant air pressure regulator. The all new Vixen features a fully adjustable trigger as well as an easy-cocking side lever which can be swapped to either side of the rifle with ease. The rifle brings great control because of its all-weather synthetic AR pistol grip and its cold hammer-forged CZ barrel which is known world-wide for its near perfect display in the field.

The AGT Vulcan 2 Tactical – Synthetic features a biathlon side lever, making cocking smooth and exact and is ideal for vermin control, plinking and target shooting. The Vulcan 2 is also regulated so you’re sure to be able to get shot on shot consistently. The Tactical differs a little from the Vulcan 2 Bullpup in that the length of the rifle is extended which helps with the balance and it also has an adjustable cheekpiece.

The Vulcan 3 introduces several significant improvements upon the previous generation. The Vulcan 3 rifle is available in two versions which differ in barrel length and overall air volume capacity the regular version has a 500-millimeter barrel with an overall length of 800 millimetres and weighs in at 3.6 kilograms. The longer version has a 700-millimeter barrel its overall length is one meter exactly and weighs slightly more at 3.7 kilograms. The overall air capacity is greatly improved with this generation of the Vulcan. The Vulcan 3 features a large carbon-fiber air bottle which on the regular version has a volume of 480 cubic centimetres, combined with the air in the cylinder the volume in total is 600 cubic centimetres.

Model 1727F with a .17 HMR caliber The 1000-times proven Biathlon straight pull action with repeating device in connection with the match two-stage trigger allows very fast repeating which results in important seconds for the hunting success. The straight pull repeater action can easily be operated with the index finger to open it for reloading. The action is closed again with the thumb. The shooter reloads the rifle with just one movement of the wrist. The hand operating the trigger will remain at the grip and even the elbow does not have to move. The shooter thus only needs little time for focussing. With 3.5 to 4 ms also the lock time is extraordinarily short and reached by no other brand. It makes a high hit rate possible. The .17 HMR caliber (Hornady Magnum Rimfire) with a shot diameter of 0.17 inch is the most innovative introduction to the firearms field in the last few years. ANSCHÜTZ presented, as one of the first manufacturers in the world, a rifle hat sets the standard in this caliber from the very start. The focus of ANSCHÜTZ North America is the importation, distribution, and service of all ANSCHÜTZ hunting, sporting, and target rifles.  We have also recently established ourselves as a direct importer of RWS products.  This product range consists of smallbore ammunition, air rifle and air pistol pellets, and centerfire ammunition. This improvement will streamline the importation of products, offer a wider range of rifles, a larger standing inventory, and soon feature a dedicated service center just for ANSCHÜTZ customers.

The 1771 features a traditional centerfire bolt layout with utlizing a two-row, six-lug bolt (2x3) directly to the barrel; allowing a quick, short 60° bolt throw. The action is extraordinarily smooth and fast to function. It is equipped with an 0.43" wide, ANSCHÜTZ Wave Style, V-block riflescope mounting dovetail rail. There are additional drilled and tapped holes provided for scope mounting bases and rings. The one-piece firing pin has a defined end-stop area to prevent damage from dry firing. The cocking mechanism features gas vent holes, which in the event of cartridge failure, directs the gas safely to the side. The right hand side, sliding safety catch, blocks the trigger sear in the safe position. The ergonomically designed safety catch is easily and silently operated. The bolt can also be opened in the safe position, allowing unloading the firearm with the safety engaged.

Before a 1782 leaves our factory in Ulm, each rifle is checked for shooting and safety; and then, the repeater receives the official proof house seal. Before this can happen, we have already manufactured the 1782 so precisely, and assembled it so meticulously, that we are able to give each rifle a guarantee to take with it to the customer - the ANSCHÜTZ guarantee of precision. It means that three shots, one after the other, will be a maximum of 28 mm apart. The decisive factor, that makes the guarantee so valuable, is that the 28 mm are “enclosed”. In other words the outer edges of the hits on the target are no more than 28 mm apart from each other.
